My goal as a CCSC, Certified Canine Strength and Conditioning Coach and AKC Fit Dog Instructor, is to promote healthy and safe activity that prioritzes wellbeing, relationship and enrichment. I welcome sport dogs, couch potatoes, senior dogs, younger dogs- any dog needing appropriate, beneficial exercise will be accommodated safely and effectively according to their needs and abilities. There is no deadline or pressure in my programs-only a goal of progress for dogs who participate. Everyone is on their own schedule with their own goals. As a fitness instructor and coach I want to help you do the best that YOU can for YOUR dog, and that will look different for each dog and handler.

As a next step beyond the basic Fit Dog classes, I offer the Fit Dog Cohort which I describe as “gym membership with coaching”. Restricted to small groups at a time, the Cohort is for dogs who have completed the basic Fit Dog Level skills and would like to continue training. The small group size (usually 4 max.) allows for one on one coaching as needed.

Eligibility: Assessment of fitness skills by Char is required to join a Fit Dog Cohort. AKC Fit Dog titles are not required, but the Fit Dog skills classes through Level 3 are prerequisite.

Fit Dog Gym is for Cohort members only and consists of weekly supervised exercise sessions. Customized for the attending cohort levels and abilities, it includes circuit workouts, updates to exercises and individual coaching. You will learn to utilize the Fit Dog foundation skills into combination exercises and effective circuit workout programs, and how to appropriately challenge your dog in the process. This is fun and adaptable training, as simple or advanced as you would like to fit your dog’s lifestyle.

Members: Discount rate of $100.00 for 6 Gym sessions. Come when you can, then renew once you have used up 6 sessions. Sessions must be used by end of the current year in which you joined.
